ABOUT

Trey Chapman is an American film director, writer, and producer. He discovered filmmaking at age 11, shooting short action videos on a JVC camcorder and casting his siblings as actors. Since then, he has written and directed two short films: Rosewood Ledge (2019) and Rent Boy (2025). The latter—a surreal thriller starring Devin Druid (13 Reasons Why, Louder Than Bombs)—follows a young sex worker who enters a strange, Black Mirror–esque encounter with a mysterious client. Rent Boy premiered at the 2025 Palm Springs International ShortFest and is currently touring the festival circuit.

Trey’s directing style blends psychological tension, cultural themes, and visual boldness—crafting stories that resonate with both festival audiences and mainstream viewers. In addition to directing, he’s an experienced editor with a background in commercial, branded, and narrative content. He’s collaborated with Fortune 500 brands, A-list talent, and award-winning filmmakers—bringing a practical edge and post-production fluency to every project.

Trey lives in Brooklyn, New York, and is currently developing a slate of feature films across the horror, thriller, and drama genres.
